Kaizen Reporting to support Dorabros’ mission to raise funds for young cancer patients
Donate to support the Dorabros
We’re delighted to be a sponsor of the Dorabros Team in their mission to raise £100,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust by rowing across the Atlantic.
Dorabros, named after the Dorado fish, are four friends – including Kaizen developer James Deehan – brought together by a thirst for adventure and their desire to make a difference. They have challenged themselves to complete five incredible challenges in 2019/20 to raise much needed funds for Teenage Cancer Trust’s 28 specialist units across the country.
Their year of challenges kicks off with the Marathon de Sables (April) followed by the Rome to Home Cycling Tour (May), Ironman Vichy (August) and English Channel swim (September). Their epic fundraising effort culminates in premier rowing event, the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, in December.
We’re supporting this final and most extreme challenge, which will see the team row across the Atlantic.
All money raised by Dorabros will go to Teenage Cancer Trust, the UK’s only charity providing specialist nursing and support to young people (aged 13 to 24) with cancer.
James explains: “We chose Teenage Cancer Trust because all of our lives have been touched by cancer. We have lost friends, both at home and at school, and we want to support other people our age that are fighting this disease. We visited the Teenage Cancer Trust unit at University College Hospital in London and were completely bowled over by the stories of courage and hope from the young people, and the dedication from the staff. Visiting the unit really gives you a first-hand understanding of why an age-appropriate space and specialised staff are vital for young people. We are so excited to be fundraising for this charity and to support the vital work they do across the country.”
Ian Rennie, our Managing Director, commented, “We are so proud of James and all the epic challenges he and the Dorabros have set for the year. The Teenage Cancer Trust is such an important charity and we are delighted to be supporting James in his fundraising for the final challenge of rowing across the Atlantic and we can’t wait to see him on the other side.”
Laura Woodcock, Regional Fundraising Manger for London and Surrounding Counties at Teenage Cancer Trust said ‘We would like to thank Kaizen Reporting for their generosity in supporting the amazing endeavours of the Dorabros Team. Without Teenage Cancer Trust’s specialist support, young people risk facing cancer isolated and alone, not accessing the specialist physical and emotional care they need through their cancer journey. The generosity of Kaizen and the support of the Dorabros will help us towards our goal of reaching more young people facing a cancer diagnosis.”
